This talk was given by Doug Shimp, partner and founder of 3Back. There will be several more videos coming that will start to make up a knowledge track that you can follow through. We hope you enjoy. Scrum User Group In Ottawa |
|
We are pleased to help the Ottawa Scrum User Group kick off its first meeting. 3Back in conjunction with the Scrum Alliance and Ottawa Scrum User Group will be sending Doug Shimp to the event to help the Ottawa Scrum User Group launch their 1st meeting.
If you become interested in launching a local scrum user group you can always reach out to 3Back and see if one of speakers would be willing to help. Why would we help? Several reasons can be listed: help local communities that are interested in Scrum, support the Scrum and the mission of the Scrum Alliance, work with locally talented people to build a collaborative community and it helps get our name out there. 3Back actively involed with the Scrum Alliance and has found that a broad ring of support to grow local Scrum User Groups, helps us all. Read the Scrum Alliance "Scrum User Group Guidelines" getting started is easy and we can help. |

Building Agile Distributed Teams - Now Available |

We are now offering coaching and training that summarize our years of experience in making agile distribute teams work for successful product development efforts. Agile methodologies warn how critical it is to co-locate teams in the same room, but this is not always practical. Distributed, distant, or "virtual" teams are a reality of business today. Offshoring, flex-work schedules, multiple corporate offices, and other forces create pressures to achieve results even when team members are scattered across the globe. |

3Back LLC, in conjunction with Critical Point Group (CPG) ran their first ever "Applied Agile" training in Charlotte on Oct 1-3. "It was simply head and shoulders above anything that we have done before. The power and passion that came out of the course was unrivaled in our experience", said trainer Doug Shimp. The course offered total immersion into techniques for building and sustaining well-formed Agile teams. The immersion was achieved by combining classroom theory, simulation, and a unique opportunity to observe Agile methods practiced by the hyper-productive technical product development team at CPG.
The course was co-taught by Guy Beaver, Director of Software Engineering at Critical Point Group and Douglas Shimp, Partner and Senior Consultant with 3Back.
On day one, the class attendees got to view CPG's team environment and walked through the team work-space. The team space was an open environment with highly visible information posted on the walls. |
